Giving Back

At Alexander Gallo Holdings, we believe it’s important to give back. We take great pride in our commitment to serving our communities, both in supporting local organizations in each of our markets and through our corporate-wide sponsorship of Room to Read (www.roomtoread.org), a charitable program started by former Microsoft executive John Wood that empowers childhood education in developing countries. The non-profit organization partners with local communities throughout the developing world to establish schools, libraries, and other educational infrastructure. In 2008, Alexander Gallo Holdings is partnering with Room to Read to support the construction of two schools – Phonesaad Complete Primary School in Laos and The Long Thuong Preschool in Vietnam – transforming them into schoolhouses that will give children the gift of education year round. We are also supporting the translation of two books into local languages – Laotian and Vietnamese – and providing 60 one-year scholarships to girls around the world, giving children worldwide greater access to reading and education.
